Sacramento Pride Parade
The Pride Parade is a big tradition in the Pride movement, dating back to the original concept 40 years ago. Participants in past Pride Parades included the Wells Fargo Bank Stagecoach, PG&E, Regional Transit, SMUD, Sacramento Police and Fire, and dozens of other entries.

“As the first openly-LGBT person elected to the Sacramento City Council, I am honored to serve as a Grand Marshal of the 2013 Sacramento LGBT Pride Parade and Festival. We have come far, but we have much further to go on our road to equality. Today’s event provides the largest source of funding for the Sacramento Gay & Lesbian Center’s programs and services. Thank you to all those who contribute their time, talent, and resources to this wonderful event.”
Roy Guira is a hair stylist at Strands, an Aveda Concept Salon & Spa. A few years ago, he branched out into radio and television. He has been named a “fashion expert” by KCRA 3 and News10, but Roy’s real passion is being behind the chair making people pretty!
